5 Reasons to Visit Jamaica Now
I am a Fan of Jamaica. I have been since my first visit in 1997. That was the year that my wonderful husband, took pity on the mother of a 3-year-old and an 13-month- old and gave us some R and R on Jamaica. We have been hooked ever since.
White sand beaches
The town of Negril is on the western side of the island. Negril is home of the 7 mile white sand beach. Early morning power walks along the surf or a romantic stroll at sunset are all enhanced by the wonderful feel of powdery sand between your toes. Negril has a variety of accommodations for travelers from family All-Inclusive to romantic hide-ways or villas with your own staff.
Jamaica Is Home of the All-Inclusive
The all-inclusive resort was born in Jamaica. Just as you should visit Tahiti for an overwater bungalow, you should try Jamaica for all-inclusive. I visited many all-inclusive properties, last year at our annual convention. I feel that the most inclusive is still the Couples product. Couples has four properties on Jamaica. Two in Negril and two in Ocho Rios. They truly include everything from food and drink to diving, snorkeling and other water sports. I have some clients who are reluctant to try an all-inclusive because they don’t drink alcohol. I am convinced that there is more to this style of property than the cost of alcohol. They go out of their way to provide outstanding customer service and amenities.
Natural Wonders
If you take a cruise and it stops in Jamaica, you will probably go to Dunn’s River Falls. It is the tourist mecca of the island for cruise ships. Jamaica has much more to offer than this. On our last visit, Tim and I took a tour up into the Blue Mountains to visit coffee plantations and see some wonderful waterfalls. There is the Black River, where you can see alligators and birds among the flora of the area. On the South coast, the YS falls offers climbing swimming and nature. There are many great things to see on Jamaica. Do not be reluctant to get off of the resorts.
Jamaica is the Land of All Right
One of the reasons that we enjoy visiting Jamaica is the people because everyone we meet is welcoming and smiling. They are also all part of the tourist business, but that is all right too. This island nation is working very hard to attract visitors and is making an infrastructure to support that goal. The taxi drivers are trained by the tourism board to be informative and safe. The experience from the moment you disembark your plane to the time that you leave will leave you wanting to return. Jamaica’s official language is English, but they also speak a dialect called patios. If you visit enough you can be dubbed a Jam-erican.
Don’t Worry – Be Happy In Jamaica
The Reggae music is everywhere in Jamaica. Bob Marley is a very popular figure in the culture and history of Jamaica. But more than that, it is the ultimate place to relax and let go of your hectic schedule. Especially on an all-inclusive resort, your biggest worry is whether to snorkel or sail, lay on the beach, play beach volleyball or go to the tennis courts, choose the steak or lobster for dinner. You can feel the worry, stress and hurry drain away into the sunset and the sea.
