Your Passport

thME5VS7KMI have had a valid passport since my first trip to Europe in 1991. Since I returned to the travel industry I am continually amazed at the number of travelers who do not have a passport. This post is to encourage you to get your passport either renewed or ordered.

Advantages to having a passport:

  • You are free to travel outside the country at the spur of the moment.

Many travelers like to take advantage of last-minute travel bargains. You must be prepared. It can take up to six weeks to apply for or renew a passport.

  • Most cruises require a valid passport to board, even to Alaska since you will stop in Canada.
  • You are free to travel worldwide.
  • This is a legal form of identification that can be used to prove work eligibility.

If you don’t want to carry or don’t know where your Social Security card is, your passport can be used as proof of citizenship.

  • Peace of mind

If you need to travel internationally for work, pleasure or necessity, you are prepared.

The world is an interesting place, full of interesting people and cultures. To not explore your world is an unfortunate loss for both you and for the world. What is your current passport situation? Should you change it?
