Mid-Year Goals

Can you believe that it is the first of July? Where has the first 6 months of 2015 gone? Here at Gerken Getaways, I have been helping clients to book cruises to the Mediterranean and Mexico. There is a small group, whom I will escort, going to Ireland in October. (Space is still available, if you would like to come!) I have clients traveling to Jamaica, and on tours of the Southwest.

I have been training and refreshing my skills the first half of this year as well. As many of you know, I was a travel agent before my children were born and have now returned to the business full-time, but it is a different industry. So, I have studied for and passed my Certified Travel Associate (CTA) designation from The Travel Institute, a leading educator of travel professionals. I have become a specialist with the Tahiti Tourism Board and well as Paul Gauguin Cruises in the South Pacific. I went on a training trip to Tahiti in April, to complete my training. I have trained with Viking River Cruises and Globus Family of Brands for Coach Tours and listened to many other hours of training from different suppliers.

My promise to you, my clients, is that I will continue to stay up to date with the latest trends in travel. How world events, may impact your upcoming trips and how I can continue to give you exceptional value for your vacation dollars through excellent customer service and product knowledge.

In September, I will travel to Montego Bay, Jamaica to attend a training conference through my host company, Montrose Travel. There will be suppliers and educational events throughout the 3 days. After this, I will travel to Ochio Rios, Jamaica to inspect hotels and excursions available for you. Jamaica is one of my favorite destinations. This summer, I will complete the Jamaican Tourism Board training, so that I will be able to better customize this wonderful destination for you.
